Audio recording and mixing for film
At Astro LX, we transform sound into the driving force that defines the emotion of every story. We are one of Latin America’s largest and most advanced studios, established as a top-tier regional benchmark with over 170 national and international productions.
Founded by Juan E. García, Simón Bross, Jaime Baksht, and Michelle Couttolenc, we have collaborated with filmmakers who share our vision of sound, such as Darius Marder, Alfonso Cuarón, Carlos Reygadas, Tatiana Huezo, Rodrigo García, Alonso Ruizpalacios, Luis Mandoki, Juan Luis Guerra, Fernando Eimbcke, Issa López, Lila Avilés, and Radu Jude, among others.
The sound born at Astro LX has reached the stages of the Cannes Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, and Sundance Film Festival, as well as leading platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, HBO, and Paramount.
We feature large-format rooms custom-designed to deliver exceptional acoustic treatment, high-precision monitoring, and Dolby-certified calibration that transforms every sonic decision into an impeccable narrative.
Designed for theatrical release feature films, international premieres, or premium streaming platforms. Delivers maximum dynamic range and spatial depth.
A flexible model for independent productions, festivals, or streaming. Compatible with in-the-box workflows, equivalent to an Avid S6 setup.
We implement a streamlined workflow combining remote preparation with in-person creative sessions, adapting to demanding schedules without compromising final quality.
Stage 1 (MS1) serves as a large-format ADR stage where the director works in direct proximity with the actors. Its dimensions foster an acoustic response that seamlessly integrates with the production production audio recorded on set.
Featured productions: Roma (Alfonso Cuarón), Get the Gringo (Mel Gibson), among others.
At Astro LX, audio isn’t merely executed—it is created. Our artistic talent understands sound as a narrative tool capable of transforming the rhythm, atmosphere, and emotion of a story.
